What Is Additive Manufacturing?

Additive manufacturing is changing how we make things. Traditional manufacturing cuts away at raw material to reveal the desired shape, the way a sculptor carves a block of stone to create a statue. In additive manufacturing, that process is flipped. Instead of removing material, the desired form is built up by adding material in precisely the desired shape.
